Opening the window of Opportunity in Progress

Business Services Provision

The SIYB Association of East Africa is inviting applications for membership in three categories:

  • Individual Members
  • Corporate Members
  • Honorary Members

The SIYB Association of East Africa  was established in April, 2014, as a result of the KaziNjeNje program in Tanzania. “KaziNjeNje” is the apprenticeship program implemented by YEF/ILO since 2010 for the purpose of providing practical exposure, capacity building, and professional development opportunity for aspiring professional young people, as Business Development Service (BDS) providers freshly graduating from colleges and universities.

With an estimated outreach of 4.5 million trainees, continuously growing network of more than 17000 trainers and 200 Master Trainers in 2500 partner institutions SIYB is one of the biggest global management training systems used for the support of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) currently on the market. Initially developed in the 1980ies, it has now been translated into more than 40 languages and introduced in more than 100 countries.

The purpose of the association is to act as a tool for strengthening and uniting the SIYB Trainers BDS providers towards sustainability of the SIYB training within the East African Countries.

The Establishment of The SIYB- Association of East Africa is an effort to ensure the sustainability of the SIYB program within the East African Countries even after the direct assistance from the International Labour Organization phases out. The association enables the SIYB Trained BDS providers to come together under one umbrella and continue with the SIYB trainings and Business Development Services provision with an acceptable quality and monitored implementations.
